Lianne’s first formal wine tasting was in a cellar in Montenegro in a former military airport. The wines were made from a very unfamiliar grape, Vranac, with one said to be good for the heart, “Pro Corde”. With this in mind Lianne set off on her wine journey.
After nearly two decades representing Her Majesty around the world, wine became Lianne’s second career. Entry-level evening classes led to more serious study and she graduated with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Diploma in Wine in 2022.
After graduating Lianne joined WSET's Governance Team, working with wine schools, merchants and catering colleges delivering WSET qualifications across Europe. The role took her from established wine regions of France to less well-known wine producing areas in Romania and Poland.
A desire to work with the product itself rather than the qualification has led Lianne to The Tudor Peacock. Having moved to Kent in 2020, her ambition is to visit every vineyard in the Garden of England. She looks forward to welcoming you to the Tudor Peacock and introducing you to the fabulous wines of the county.
Jeanine is a co-founder of The Tudor Peacock and has been involved in the business right from the start.
A nanny by trade, Jeanine has always harboured ambitions to work in the hospitality industry and is now a duty manager of The Tudor Peacock. Jeanine’s interest in wine was sparked during a 4 year stint living in the foothills of the Jura mountains, between Geneva and Lausanne, surrounded by vineyards. It was therefore apt that Jeanine moved to Chilham in 2012, a village that is now too surrounded by vineyards.
She has loved learning about Kentish wine, and is working towards her WSET Level 2 qualification, and is now passionate about passing that knowledge on to our customers and making their experience at The Tudor Peacock as wonderful as it possibly can be.
Away from work, Jeanine is married (to co-founder Nick!) and together they have three children - Harrison, Freya and Isabel. Jeanine loves to travel and likes nothing more than reading a good book on a sunny beach somewhere!
Christian has been involved in The Tudor Peacock from the very start. He has over 10 years experience in the hospitality industry, predominantly in his hometown of Augsburg, Germany, where he was also a professional television cameraman!
He arrived in Chilham in September 2019 after falling in love with the village and its Tudor buildings. He is passionate about wine, particularly sparkling, and has completed a number of tours of the Champagne region, as well as of course several Kentish vineyards.
